Dance Level 3 Diploma in Performing Arts + Extended Diploma in Performing Arts (Dance)
Who is the course for?
This 2 year Level 3 dancers training is ideal if you have intermediate level dance skills and a particular interest in developing both your practical and theoretical understanding of dance.
The course is practical in nature and perfect for dancers who wish to pursue pathways in dance at Specialist Colleges and in Higher Education.
What is it?
On the Diploma and Extended Diplomas in Dance you will train in all aspects of dance, including contemporary, ballet, jazz, choreography and technique. In addition you will study other aspects of the performing arts including physical theatre, contact improvisation, audition techniques and relevant industry skills. As part of your course you will also look to explore the history of dance. You will work as a Dance Company, learning and performing choreographed pieces and devising exciting new work, which will be performed to a paying public audience.
This training provides opportunities to develop skills in creativity and performance. The course offers technical skills and professional training in Dance, it offers opportunities to see professional work in the theatre and to gain experience through a range of professional workshops.

What do I need to get on the course?
At least five GCSEs grades A* – C / 9-4 or equivalent (must include English and Maths).(inc English and Maths) or BTEC Level 2 Diploma (at merit grade).
Experience and understanding of dance is essential, and will be assessed by interview and audition.
What can I do at the end of it?
We have a high progression rate for university or specialist dance colleges e.g. Performers, Laban Centre for Movement & Dance, Bath Spa, Mountview London Studio Centre, Arts Educational, Stella Mann, Italia Conti, Chichester University, Middlesex University and Liverpool John Moores University.
Every year our dancers progress to some of the best known Colleges and universities for performing arts in the country. Dancers are also accepted on a wide range of other courses, or employed in the entertainment or leisure industries. Previous dancers have also been employed by organisations within the performance arts industry.
In addition, there will be opportunities for you to widen your interests, develop new skills and, in some cases, gain additional qualifications in Acting, musical theatre and working towards ISTD examinations in a range of dance styles.
