What is it?
Miskin Music offers you an amazing opportunity to train in a professional environment as a Musician, on one of our Music Performance courses.
You will get to work alongside a diverse range of experienced industry practitioners, in creating public performances and/or recordings. These will mirror the demands of the exciting and dynamic music industry.
You will have the opportunity to develop your skills in a variety of contexts. As well as your own performances, you will work alongside The Miskin Theatre, Dance, and Media Companies, which will provide you a wider appreciation of the demands of the creative arts industry.
All of our productions embed the business and management principals, which are essential for delivering and creating successful music events and/or recordings.
Our courses aim to provide you with the analytical, creative, and technical skills that are required to progress onto Higher Education or to develop a fulfilling career as a Musician.
Is it for me?
This course covers a range of musical skills and techniques. With our dedicated team of industry professionals guiding and supporting you, you will explore different music styles and different genres. You will explore ensemble, create and devise material through rehearsal and learn to refine your work before performing to a paying public audience. The advanced training requires a high level of self-discipline and commitment, and will require you to attend rehearsals and performances throughout the two years.
The course includes written work based around research and personal development, and requires you to keep a creative e-diaryblog site of your work and to evaluate yourself both during and after rehearsal and performance.
What Qualification will I get?
On completion of your 1st year you will gain a UAL Level 3 Diploma in Music Performance.
On completion of your 2nd Year you will gain a UAL Level 3 Extended Diploma in Music Performance.
Are there any Entry Requirements?
The Diploma is open to musicians over 16 and there is no upper age limit. The Diploma is a demanding and intensive training course offering a comprehensive music training. Prospective musicians must have talent, self-belief, motivation, commitment, dedication, self-discipline and an open attitude. There is an academic requirement of 5 GCSE’s at GRADE C/ 9-4 or equivalent (must include English and Maths).
